Workshop Fabrication & Trailer Boat Repairing in Nakara 0810, NT
At Hot & Heavy Welding, we take pride in restoring and repairing trailer boats to their former glory, no matter the extent of damage. Recently, we had the opportunity to repair a heavily rusted trailer in Nakara, NT 0810, caused by constant exposure to salty water and air.
Trailer Boat Repairing: Restoring What the Sea Took Away
Boat trailers face some of the harshest conditions, and rust is often an unavoidable consequence of life near the ocean. But don’t worry, our team specializes in thorough, expert repairs that will have your trailer looking and performing like new.
For this particular project, we focused on:
- Replacing Rusted Middle Braces: The original braces were severely corroded. We fabricated new braces, ensuring they were rolled to match the design and then deep-galvanised in a bath for maximum rust resistance. Once the braces were ready, we expertly rewelded them to the trailer frame for a solid, long-lasting repair.
- Rust Removal and Repainting: After removing the rust from the main trailer frame, we applied a galvanised spray to give the metal long-term protection against further corrosion. This not only improved the trailer’s appearance but also extended its lifespan.
- Replacing Teflon Rollers: The entire set of teflon rollers was replaced, ensuring smooth operation when loading and unloading the boat onto the trailer. Proper rollers are essential for minimizing friction and wear on both your boat and trailer.

Why Galvanisation Matters
Galvanising metal components ensures long-lasting protection against rust and corrosion, especially in coastal areas like Nakara. The deep-galvanising process coats the steel in zinc, which acts as a protective layer, extending the life of your trailer and preventing future rust damage.
