Recently, I had the pleasure of working with a great customer at Cullen Bay Crescent, Larrakeyah, who was facing a common issue with their yacht’s boat rack setup. The X2 tow-eye hooks on the boat were catching on the wobble rollers, making it difficult to properly pull up and secure the boat onto the yacht’s rack.
After thoroughly assessing the problem on-site, I determined that the existing aluminum tow-eye hooks were not designed optimally for this particular configuration. So, we came up with a custom solution to replace the problematic hooks.
The Solution: Custom-Made Tow-Eye Hook
Instead of the original X2 tow-eye hooks, I fabricated a single custom-made hook that was designed specifically to address this issue. Here’s how we improved the setup:
- Longer Length: The new hook was extended to prevent any chance of it catching onto the wobble rollers.
- Smoother Design: We refined the shape to ensure a smooth roll onto the rack without any obstructions.
- Enhanced Strength: Built with high-quality aluminum, this new hook is not only smoother but also significantly stronger.
This custom solution has made it much easier for the customer to secure and pull up the boat onto the rack without the hassle of getting stuck or damaging the equipment. The end result was a safer, more efficient setup that meets the customer’s needs perfectly.
